Job Offer: Dental Assistant – Full-Time (Netherlands)

We are seeking a motivated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our dynamic, modern and private clinics in the Netherlands. This is a full-time position offering a competitive salary of €3,000 gross per month. The ideal candidate will have a passion for patient care and a strong interest in working in a modern, patient-centered dental practice. We're particularly looking for prevention and periodontic assistants, see below.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist the dentist during treatments and procedures.
  • Prepare and sterilize dental instruments.
  • Manage patient records and assist with administrative tasks.
  • Take dental X-rays and assist with diagnostic procedures.
  • Provide patient education on oral hygiene and treatment plans.
  • Ensure the clinic meets health and safety standards.
  • Manage inventory and order dental supplies as needed.
Requirements:
  • Previous experience as a dental assistant or dental hygienist is required.
  • Strong communication skills in English (Dutch language course will be provided)
  • Team player with a caring, professional attitude.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Willing to move to the Netherlands for at least two years
  • Commitment fee for the language course of €1.000, you can pay in instalments.

Periodontic Assistants

periodontic assistant in the Netherlands supports dentists in the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of gum diseases (periodontal diseases). Here are the primary tasks:
  1. Assisting During Procedures: The assistant helps the periodontist during treatments such as scaling, root planing, gum surgeries, and placing dental implants. This includes preparing instruments, providing tools, and managing suction.
  2. Patient Education: Explaining oral hygiene techniques to patients, especially those with gum disease. This includes teaching proper brushing, flossing, and the use of antimicrobial mouthwashes.
  3. Taking X-rays: Conducting dental X-rays, focusing on the periodontium (the structures surrounding the teeth) to assess bone loss or disease progression.
  4. Sterilizing Equipment: Ensuring all instruments and tools are properly cleaned and sterilized between procedures to maintain a sterile environment.

Prevention assistants

  1. Patient Education: Teaching patients about proper oral hygiene, including brushing, flossing, and the importance of regular check-ups. Prevention assistants may also educate patients about diet and its impact on oral health.
  2. Preventive Treatments: Applying fluoride treatments to strengthen tooth enamel and prevent decay. They may also apply dental sealants to protect teeth from cavities, particularly in children and adolescents.
  3. Cleaning and Polishing: Performing basic dental cleaning procedures such as scaling (removal of plaque and tartar) and polishing to maintain oral hygiene and prevent gum disease.
